Where it all began

Let’s rewind to March 2016: our first surf trip together through Sri Lanka. That exactly was the starting signal for wavesnbackpack and the countless travel stories we wanted to share. We wanted to create a platform that keeps these memories alive. What started as a personal passion project has evolved into an established brand for travel, surf, and outdoors.

In our work, we merge our diverse backgrounds: Ani brings her love for all things linguistic and visual, along with her expertise in language and aesthetics. Julian handles the digital side; with his background in SEO and digital communication for global corporations, he ensures our stories are actually found. As a team, we create content that reaches travelers through targeted search engine optimization.
