We arrived in Myanmar without a lot of expectations. We didn’t read a lot as we wanted to get an own, genuine picture. We just saw a couple of great pictures of hot air balloons over Bagan. Now, after we spent 12 days in Myanmar we can tell – Myanmar is so much more than that. Watching sunrises on mountains, trying to communicate with lovely locals and chasing the balloons in Bagan. The following article will go beyond what we saw and showcases a great Myanmar Travel Route.
Surf Conditions in Sri Lanka When it comes to surfing in Sri Lanka, from October to April
Having traveled in some Asian countries one of our highlights so far was taking the train in Sri Lanka. For people who do not travel regularly with it, it is far more than a cheap option to travel from one place to the other but it is joining Sri Lanka’s society. Besides trying all varieties of fresh fruit and deep-fried snacks you have a stunning view on Sri Lanka’s coastline or its even more impressive highlands. First, we were unsure whether the train is the best way of transport for us, as we have heard many stories of overcrowded trains and insecure journeys. In our case, we did not experience anything similar.
Breathtaking views on lush green mountains, pristine valleys and smiling locals. All that’s distinctive for the island of Flores in Western Nusa Tenggara. Once you arrived in Labuan Bajo you will immediately feel the positive vibe and feel home within the first steps on the soil of Flores. As in many stops of our three-months trip through Indonesia, Labuan Bajo offers visitors some great restaurants. In this article we want to share the best food in Labuan Bajo and suggest great places for a perfect end of the day after beautiful Palau Padar or trips to the impressive Komodo Dragons.
One of the highlights of our trip through Indonesia certainly was the Kelimutu National Park on Flores. In the middle of beautiful nature you will find three very different crater lakes, with a couple of legends to it.
Flores. The name of an island we haven’t heard before our three months trip through Indonesia. A comparatively small number of tourists make it further east than Bali or Lombok, so the island of Flores stayed relatively untouched. The island, however, gets increasingly better known for its up to three-meter long inhabitants, the Komodo Dragons. But it has so much more to offer than just these poisonous lizards. In the following article, you will find out our highlights on Flores Indonesia and why Flores is worth visiting not just once. Unknown Flores, here we come!
We came because of world-class, warm water waves but didn’t expect the island to be that unique. The little-known island Simeulue on the north-west coast of Sumatra and its distinctive water buffalos feel like traveling in time, perhaps even to a different planet. In the following article, I will share my thoughts and tips of our first stop in our three months’ trip through Indonesia. Surf in North Sumatra – right on!
Smiling monks, a breath-taking view in 2,500 ft and hardly any tourists. This is Hpa-An in Myanmar – an idyllic town where we luckily stopped during our travels through Myanmar.
